Bright formations take to the skies in first for St George
St George’s will light up this New Year’s Eve for the annual Onion Drop, which will be accompanied by live music, treats and a drone show.
Tre Maxwell, chief executive of Navigate Drone Light Shows, said that the spectacle will feature a variety of Bermuda, New Year’s and St George’s inspired elements to wow the crowd.
Mr Maxwell said: “People can expect a really colourful, eye-catching drone show in the sky, flying at around 400 feet.
“We’ll be flying 125 drones for this one, and it’s been something we’ve been planning and prepping for over the past few months.
“We’re super excited to see how the crowd reacts — especially since this will be the first time a drone show has ever taken place in St George’s.”
Mr Maxwell added that the company was taking bookings and looking forward to a busy 2026.
New Year festivities in St George’s are scheduled to kick off at 7pm in Kings Square, with the annual Onion Drop at midnight to mark the start of 2026.
Audiences will be entertained by a range of musical performances including DOA, Demara Maybury, Olivia Hamilton, Kase, DJ Iceman and DJ Kaos.
A range of vendors will also be in place including Ashley’s Lemonade, the Bermuda Cupcake Company, Food Hub, Dandy Donuts, Dutch Pops, Jazzy Treats and Toy Express.
