Open house showcases tourism appeal at Verdmont Museum
The Bermuda National Trust will host an open house next month at its Verdmont Museum to boost tourism.
The BNT said the Cultural Tourism Ambassadors Open House from March 10 to 12 would bring together hospitality and heritage partners and help shape visitors’ experiences across the island.
It will run from 10am to 3pm daily, according to the February edition of the BNT monthly newsletter.
Educators were invited to connect with the museum on Collector’s Hill in Smith’s to enhance learning.
The BNT said the event was ahead of the first cruise ships and before hotel rooms filled to give an early opportunity to experience the museum and meet its team.
People will also be able to share insights on how it can best support visitors and local audiences throughout the tourism season.
“Our valued cultural tourism ambassadors will enjoy a guided tour with trained interpreters, rare access to the original detached kitchen and enslaved quarters and a complimentary copy of Verdmont: The Story of a House,” the BNT said.
The museum is a key site on the African Diaspora Heritage Trail, interpreting Bermuda’s 18th and 19th-century history “through the lives of both enslaved and free residents”.
