A funeral service to celebrate the life of the late Sir John Swan will be held on June 24 in Hamilton.

The service will be held at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street, Hamilton at 2pm followed by a private interment at St John’s Cemetery.

Owing to limited seating at the venue, the family of the late former Premier have encouraged residents who wish to join in celebrating his life to do so via live stream at several venues in Hamilton.

They include Pier Six, the Cathedral Hall and The Earl Cameron Theatre.

The event will also be streamed via the Government’s CITV channel or TNN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sir John’s memory to The Salvation Army.

Sir John passed away on June 4 at the age of 90. He was a successful real estate and development businessman, and the island’s premier from 1982 to 1995. He was named Bermuda’s National Hero in 2016.
