Moore sets new record in golden display

Record breaker: Moore

Madelyn Moore set a new Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championship record as she claimed gold in the 50m freestyle last night.

Moore’s time of 26.65sec was also a Bermuda record for the 15-16 age group.

The gold was her second of the night, following the silver medal she picked up in the 100m backstroke final in Barbados, swimming a 1:07.03.

There were other impressive displays from Bermuda’s swimmers yesterday, with Evan Farrow dropping a massive 30 seconds from his personal best in the 1500m freestyle. Farrow’s time of 18:35.32 earned him sixth place in the final.

Keagan Woolley, meanwhile, swam the 200m breaststroke in 3:06.59 and finished eighth.
