Eight of Bermuda’s school students are featured in an exciting new America’s Cup public promotion on local buses.

The bus back promotion “America’s Cup is Our Cup” features America’s Cup Endeavour graduates, representing the hundreds of ten to 12-year-olds who have experienced the weeklong Steam education school programme.

Many had never sailed before joining AC Endeavour.

The students featured are:

Christopher Raymond, who this week is sailing in New Zealand for the first time and won a recent regatta.

Ruth Mello Cann, from Clearwater Middle School believes “America’s Cup can be my Cup if I practice and train really hard, and then one day I will be able to participate in the America’s Cup.”

Sven Curley, a 10-year-old from Harrington Sound Primary who says America’s Cup is his Cup because he’s discovered that “sailing is amazing!”

Chelsea Minors, an adventurous sailor who participated in the programme with a broken toe in cast and whose passion for sailing has led her to being a more organised and responsible student.

Ocean Archeval, a Bermuda Institute student who says sailing has helped her learn and grow and challenge herself to be the best that she can be.

Zico Smith, the great-nephew of four-time Bermudian Olympic sailor Peter Bromby.

Will Rossiter, a 12-year old who never wanted to attend sailing and now enjoys it more than ever. His coaches nicknamed him “Russell”, which he happily answers to.

Shayna Patterson who is also featured in a video on the America’s Cup website said: “I will be sad to finish the AC Endeavour programme because I will miss the coaches and the other Endeavour kids. This programme has given me confidence and determination to keep learning and keep going even if I am having a hard time.”
