Kole Hall and Jutorre Burgess have experienced mixed fortunes in the play-offs.

Hall’s Chorley side edged King's Lynn Town 1-0 in the Vanarama National League play-off eliminator on Tuesday night to keep their promotion hopes alive.

However, fellow Bermudian Burgess’s season came to a grinding halt after Harborough Town lost 4-3 on penalties to Kettering Town in the Southern League Premier Central play-off semi-final with the match goalless after extra-time.

Chorley secured their spot in the last four in the National League North play-off thanks to Mark Ellis’s 84th minute tally, with Bermuda forward Hall providing the game-winning assist at Victory Park.

With the game deadlocked and extra time looming, Hall drove Adam Blakeman’s clever pass from a free-kick across the box, where Ellis, who also had a header cleared off the line, tapped in a loose ball at the far post after Scott Wilson’s initial effort was saved.

The Magpies will now hit the road to take on Scunthorpe United at Attis Arena in National League North play-off semi-final on Saturday.

Andy Preece’s team secured their spot in the play-offs after finishing fifth in the league and ended their campaign with an emphatic 5-1 thrashing of hosts Rushall Olympic, with Hall netting his team’s fifth goal to round off the scoring in the lopsided contest at Dales Lane.
