Jutorre Burgess extends deal with Harborough Town
Jutorre Burgess will continue showcasing his talents at Harborough Town after being retained by the Southern League Premier Division Central outfit.
The Bermudian winger is among several players who have agreed to deals keeping them at the Leicestershire-based club for at least another year.
“Staying with Harborough Town is an amazing feeling,” an elated Burgess told The Royal Gazette. “It’s a real confidence boost to know the club believes in me and sees my potential.
“I’m buzzing to keep working hard to improve my game and help the team push for even more success next season.”
Burgess, 18, had a fantastic debut season with Harborough’s first team since becoming the first player to be promoted from their emerging talent programme last September.
The former Bermuda under-20, Hamilton Parish and Brooke House College academy player netted six goals during the campaign and was named as the Young Player of the Year during the Harborough’s annual awards ceremony.
Burgess played an integral role in helping Mitch Austin’s team make club history by reaching the second round of the Emirates FA Cup, the farthest they have ever reached in the oldest football competition in the world, where they lost 5-3 away to Sky Bet League One outfit Reading.
The Bees finished fifth in the Southern League Premier Division Central to secure their spot in the promotion play-off semi-final, which they lost 4-3 on penalties to Kettering Town after the two sides remained goalless after extra-time.
