Deniche Hill has been included in the Bermuda squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Cayman Islands and Cuba.

The Leicester City Under-21 forward has played only once under coach Michael Findlay, when he came on as a second-half substitute to replace Kane Crichlow against French Guiana in September 2023.

Hill is part of the Gombey Warriors side to face Cayman at Flora Duffy Stadium on Wednesday before clashing with Cuba six days later in Santiago de Cuba.

Also back in the squad is Rahzir Smith-Jones, who last played for Bermuda in 2019. The forward scored 19 goals and provided four assists for Binfield in the just-ended season.

Goalkeeper Coleridge Fubler Jr has been rewarded for a stellar season in goal for Binfield by being called up to the national team.

Central defender Harry Twite makes a return from injury, with Jorj Dublin, of Devonshire Colts, in line to earn his first Bermuda cap at the heart of the defence.

With a point from two matches, after a draw with Antigua & Barbuda and a loss to Honduras, wins over Cayman and Cuba would place Findlay’s side in a great position to progress to the next round of World Cup qualifiers.

“This is a special and exciting time for Bermudian football,” Findlay said.

“Specifically now with our senior men’s team building on our 2026 Gold Cup [play-off] appearance against Honduras in March, we are now competing in critical international matches where the prize is advancement to the third round of Concacaf 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifying.

“The Fifa World Cup always conjures up hopes and dreams for our fans, as it is the most prestigious event in world football.

“The entire group of players and staff share those aspirations. Achieving success here would place us in the final round alongside Concacaf’s 11 top teams, representing an enormous achievement for the BFA, significant for our programme’s growth, and a vital step towards that ultimate dream.”
