Cecoy Robinson replaces Quincy Hunt as PHC head coach
Cecoy Robinson has been appointed as head coach of PHC Zebras.
The Premier Division club have confirmed that the former Zebras striker and captain has succeeded Quincy Hunt, who leaves the role after two years in charge.
Robinson, son of former Zebras player Cecil Robinson, coached First Division outfit Robin Hood last season and also serves as head coach of Bermuda’s under-20 squad.
In a statement on social media, PHC welcomed his return to the club.
“Mr Robinson’s appointment reflects PHC’s ongoing commitment to the development of coaches who have deep ties to our club and a passion for advancing football in Bermuda,” a club statement read.
His journey with PHC began in our peewee football programme and extended through to the senior team, where he proudly captained the club for just under six years before departing to play for Dandy Town in 2019.
“His commitment to youth development was evident early on, beginning his coaching career with PHC’s under-8 age group in 2007-2008 and progressing through under-10, under-13 and U15 levels until his departure in 2019.”
PHC also placed on record their appreciation for Hunt. He replaced Winston Trott Jr, who stepped down after guiding Zebras to the Premier Division and Friendship Trophy titles during the 2022-23 campaign, which earned him the Premier Division Coach of the Year award.
Hunt also enjoyed success during his tenure by helping the club retain their Premier Division and Friendship Trophy titles in his first season at the helm and also winning the Charity Cup last season.
Zebras were denied a third successive Friendship Trophy title after losing 3-1 to Dandy Town and lost out in the league by just a point to North Village.
“Coach Hunt has served in this role for the past two seasons, bringing his passion and commitment to the programme,” the PHC statement read.
“Quincy’s history with PHC spans over two decades. A product of the club’s youth programme, he represented the senior team as a player, contributed as a youth coach, and served as assistant coach under Coach Winston Trott before taking on the head coach position.
“He earned his B Licence coaching qualification in 2018 while actively volunteering in the youth programme, exemplifying his dedication to both personal development and the growth of PHC football.
“Coach Hunt's contributions have helped elevate the standard of our football programme and have continued the legacy of leadership within our club.
“On behalf of the PHC executive and membership, we express our deep appreciation to Coach Quincy for his service, success, and commitment. We wish him continued success in all his future endeavours, on and off the field.”
