Concacaf have named Reggie Lambe as one of the top five players during the recent round of World Cup qualifiers.

Lambe scored the winning goal for the Gombey Warriors as they beat Cuba 2-1 in a winner-takes-all clash for a spot in the final round of World Cup qualifying on Tuesday.

Bermuda’s most capped player showed remarkable composure just minutes after coming on as a substitute to round an onrushing defender and smash the ball into the net after being put through on goal.

On the Concacaf website Lambe has been placed alongside Jamaica’s Warner Brown, who scored three goals in two games for the Reggae Boyz, and El Salvador’s Brayan Gil, a scorer in both of El Salvador’s matches.

Gervane Kastaneer, from Curacao, and Warren Madrigal of Costa Rica were also nominated.

Lambe and his Bermuda team-mates will find out their opponents in the final round of World Cup qualifying tonight.

The lowest-ranked team in the draw, Bermuda have been placed in pot four by Concacaf and are guaranteed to play one of Panama, Costa Rica or Jamaica, the three top-ranked teams who are placed in pot one.

Bermuda’s recent nemesis Honduras are in pot two alongside El Salvador and Curacao, with Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago and Guatemala featuring in pot three.

The draw takes place at 8pm Bermuda time tonight and can be watched on Concacaf’s YouTube channel.
