Kenni Thompson will continue plying her trade with Bournemouth during the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Thompson is among 13players whose services have been retained for the 2025-26 season from Steve Cuss’s double-winning side that were crowned FA Women's National League Division One South West champions and also lifted the FA Women's National League Plate for the first time.

“We’re really pleased that the 13 players have agreed to be with us again for next season,” Cuss said on the club’s website.

“They were all a big part of the promotion-winning squad and I am delighted they are going to be with us for the season ahead.

“We are going into a new league, a new era, some of those players have played at that level before but there’s a majority who haven’t, so I think there’s a real excitement from the group as we move forward.

“These players have made a legacy from being the title-winning team from last season and hopefully we can carry on the momentum and get off to a good start.”

Thompson scored in the Cherries 3-2 win against Cheltenham Town in FA Women’s National League Plate final and also walked away with the player of the match award to cap a phenomenal debut season with the club.

The 24-year-old came up through the youth ranks at Espanyol and Barcelona and has also had stints in England with Chelsea and London City Lionesses,

Cuss has been busy during the off season trying to strengthen his squad ahead of the upcoming campaign playing a step up in the National League Southern Premier Division.

“It’s been a busy summer in terms of targeting players we want to bring in,” he said.

“There are lots of negotiations and hopefully over the next period of time we will be able to bring them in and get them started with us.”
