Bermudian winger Deniche Hill has joined Buxton FC after leaving Leicester City.

The 21-year-old, who will be a key player for Bermuda in the final round of qualifying for the 2026 Fifa World Cup, spent nearly three years at Leicester after signing his first contract with the club in December 2022.

Hill, the son of former international Corey Hill, was spotted by Leicester scouts while playing for Bermuda and has played six times for the national team.

Buxton, who play in the National League North, the sixth tier of English football, will look to use Hill as a left wing-back based on manager Joe McGrath’s tactics in preseason.

The side, based in Derbyshire, finished seventh last season and made it into the National League North play-offs before losing to Chester and will play their first game of the new season at home against Radcliffe on Saturday, August 9.

Hill will get the opportunity to face at least one of his Bermuda international team-mates this season with Buxton set to face Kole Hall’s Chorley for the first time on Saturday, October 18
