Bermuda girls off to CFU Challenge Series in Trinidad

The Bermuda Football Association on Tuesday announced the squad that will represent the Island at the Caribbean Football Union Girls Under-14 Challenge Series, which starts in Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday.

Bermuda have been placed in Tier I group B and will compete against the host nation, Jamaica and Aruba.

First up is a clash with Jamaica on Saturday, with Trinidad their opponents 24 hours later.

After getting a 48-hour rest, Bermuda take to the field for the last group fixture with Aruba.

At the conclusion of the group stage, the group winners and runners-up will progress to the semi-finals, leading to the finals scheduled for August 24.

Teams finishing in third place will head into a play-off for fifth position. For sides occupying fourth place, consolation of playing in the seventh place play-off is in store.

The girls will be seeking to draw inspiration from the boys who reached the final in Trinidad a year ago, before they lost on penalties to Barbados after the match ended 0-0 in normal time.
