Bermuda forward Jahni Simmons has signed for Coventry Sphinx in the West Midlands Regional Premier Division.

Simmons was unveiled by the club yesterday, ahead of their home league encounter with Hednesford Town tomorrow.

“Jahni is a fierce player looking to make her mark within the women’s game,” the club posted on its social-media platforms.

“She represents the Bermuda women’s national team and we look forward to seeing what she can achieve with us this season.”

The 19-year-old spent the second half of the 2024-25 season at Future Pro Academy. Her displays while turning out for the Coventry-based academy saw her attract interest from Women's Super League sides.

Demir Vavan, the Future Pro founder and managing director, expects more doors to open for the Bermudian this season.

“We have some exciting opportunities coming up for her this year, with our under-21 programme and she’s been part of our first team,” he said.

“That’s a good level for her. Hopefully, she pushes on and continues to attract interest from higher-league clubs.”

At Sphinx, Simmons will be playing under Sophie Bourton, the same coach she worked with at Future Pro, where she is the female lead coach and lecturer. Bourton was appointed by Sphinx in July.

Jahni and twin sister Jahde had a successful summer with the Bermuda team that won gold at the Island Games in Orkney. She is expected to play a huge part in Naquita Robinson’s side in the Concacaf Nations League, starting at the end of November.
