St George’s, Town, PHC and Cougars into semi-finals
Dandy Town and PHC Zebras have secured the remaining Dudley Eve Trophy semi-final spots, the Bermuda Football Association has confirmed.
Hornets advanced as the winners of group A and Zebras as the best runner-up in the three groups.
They will now join group B winners Devonshire Cougars and group C winners St George’s Colts in the semi-final draw to be held on Monday.
Town coach Jarreau Hayward is happy to see his team progress in the competition and feels his side are starting to come together.
“I am proud of my team as these guys are taking real steps forward and evolving,” he told The Royal Gazette.
“The next round will be tough no matter who we get, but all games are difficult. We just have to continue our processes and grow as a unit.
“Congratulations to St George’s’s, PHC and Cougars. I know they will all be up for whoever they get.”
PHC coach Cecoy Robinson is also happy to reach the final four and is not fazed by whoever his team are pitted against.
“It feels good to get to the semi-final,” he said. “We are all working so it’s a new project for me and the more games the better for us
“Looking ahead to the draw, I am not fussed. In order to be the best you have to beat the best, so we’ll take whatever comes for us and we'll just see who we will get.
“Football is football and every game is played on the pitch and not just by what name you pull out of the hat.”
All four semi-finalists went unbeaten during the group stage of the competition, named in honour of the late Bermuda Football Association administrator and founding member.
New Dudley Eve Trophy champions will be crowned this year, with Hamilton Parish relegated last season.
