An awful injury suffered by Kenyade McQueen in the second half overshadowed Boulevard’s fightback from two goals down to draw with Paget at Devonshire Recreation Club in a rescheduled Premier Division encounter last night.

McQueen reportedly broke his left arm close to the shoulder after an awkward landing from a challenge by Tyler Emery, which went unpunished. He was later taken away by ambulance after a lengthy stoppage in the match.

Paget surged to a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Kion Knights and Shakir Smith, who was later sent off for using foul and abusive language. Doreiko Walker scored a brace to earn last-placed Boulevard their second point of the season.

For Paget, it was also their second stalemate. moving them to five points.

Knights opened the scoring in the ninth minute when he raced on to a through ball and made it count. Another deep, searching pass allowed Smith to apply the finish to double the lead for Antwan Russell’s side in the sixteenth minute.

Walker pulled one back for Boulevard in the nineteenth minute when he slotted in from close range. He completed his brace ten minutes before the break by taking advantage of some loose marking by the Paget defence.

Nelson Carpenter had a double chance to restore Paget’s lead three minutes before half-time, but his first effort was saved by Michael Andrew before the rebound was sent wide.

Four minutes into the second half, Paget were gifted with a scoring chance. Andrew’s short goal kick was intercepted by Diaje Hart, who released the ball to Smith, but the striker fluffed the opportunity and allowed the goalkeeper to recover.

After the prolonged stoppage, Walker came close to notching his hat-trick in bizarre fashion when his header slipped through Shaquille Bean’s hands and nearly crossed the line.

Delray Rawlins drew a great save from Andrew with a well-struck free kick from the edge of the box.

Ernest Trott came close to snatching the three points for Boulevard just before the end, but he rushed his effort in a one-on-one with Bean — and the chance was gone.
