David Jones Jr struck early as Dandy Town retained their Friendship Trophy crown in a tight final at Wellington Oval on New Year’s Day.
Jones found the net in the seventh minute to give Town an early lead and they should have put the game out of sight, with only Village goalkeeper Detre Bell preventing Town from extending their advantage.
Captain Bell made a string of fine saves to keep his side in with a sniff of victory but Village failed to create many clear chances, with London Steede failing to take perhaps their best opportunity.
