St George’s ease relegation fears by beating Paget

St George’s eased their relegation fears with an easy away win over Paget at White Hill Field on Sunday.
Jahron Dickinson, Kashe Hall and Jarazinho Basset were on the scoresheet for St George’s, with Hall keen to build on this result in the coming weeks.
“Consistency is key,” Hall said. “We controlled the game and managed it well for our second win of the season.”
St George’s controlled large portions of the match but Paget looked dangerous on the counter attack in the first quarter of the game until the away side opened the scoring in the eleventh minute.
A neat piece of passing between Malachi Trott and Bassett ended with the latter driving a low cross into the danger area for Dickinson to flick underneath the dive of Paget goalkeeper Omari Deshields.
St George’s could have doubled their lead five minutes later when Kashe Hall spread the play to his brother, Blaiz. He showed quick feet to evade three Paget challenges and create space for the shot but lashed his effort wide.
Paget slowly found a way to play through the aggressive press by St George’s and created their first real opportunity when captain Diaje Hart laid off for Ajani Lee to wrap a crisp pass into Daniel Cook, who controlled nicely but fired his shot wide.
Ten minutes before half time, Hart clipped a free kick to Kushae Hypolite, but his fellow attacker failed to control his shot.
Just before the break, St George’s had another chance to extend their lead. Blaiz Hall, Leroy Lewis and Trott combined on the left before Hall’s effort was blocked by Tristen Davis and Deshields.
Paget were forced to make do without advice from coach Antwan Russell at half time after he was sent off for using foul language to the referee.
St George’s dominated the second half and fashioned the first chance straight from the restart. The Hall siblings combined before Blaiz played through to Dickinson, who curled his strike over the bar.
The Hall siblings were at the heart of the move as St George’s scored again in the 54th minute. Blaiz clipped forward for Dickinson to cut back and Kashe Hall side-footed past Deshields.
Paget were forced to play the final half-hour with ten men after midfielder Daniel Cook was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
St George’s should have made it three two minutes after when Trott slipped in Lewis, who squared for Dickinson, but he failed to control his volley.
The match was ended as a contest with 20 minutes remaining. Blaiz Hall glanced a corner by brother Kashe into the six-yard area and Bassett took advantage of poor Paget defending to control and finish past Deshields.
Despite the deficit Paget kept going and had a couple of decent chances towards the end of the game. Substitute Tyler Emery whipped a lovely ball into Delray Rawlins but the substitute powered his header wide.
Nelson Carpenter then got to the touchline on the right and picked out Lee, who forced a reflex save from St George’s keeper Tahj Bell.
