Bermudians Nathan Trott and Nahki Wells were both on the winning side in League One on Saturday as they prepare to take each other on next week.

Trott and Wells will come face to face at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday with both the home side and Luton heading into the game off the back of victories.

Goalkeeper Trott produced another clean sheet as League One leaders Cardiff City came away with a convincing 3-0 win over Rotherham United despite playing most of the match with ten-men.

The Bermudian had a relatively quiet afternoon between the posts at New York Stadium on Saturday and was really only tested in a one-on-one situation in which he blocked on- loan forward Harry Gray’s route to goal in the first half.

The Bluebirds were reduced to ten men in the 21st minute when defensive midfielder Ryan Wintle was shown a red card for bringing down Gray after he was through on goal.

But the away side continued to control the tempo and made their dominance count in the 43rd minute when midfielder Omari Kellyman buried winger Ollie Tanner's cross into the bottom corner.

Trott was then equal to the task to deny Gray, who is loan from Premier League side Leeds United, in added time to preserve his team’s one-goal advantage at the break.

Forward Chris Willock doubled Cardiff’s lead in the 58th minute with a composed finish after being played in by Tanner, who grabbed his second assist of the match.

Substitute Isaak Davies then came off the bench to score Cardiff’s third in second-half stoppage time with a brilliant solo effort to punctuate their dominant display despite a numerical disadvantage.

Cardiff remain two points ahead of fellow title hopefuls Lincoln City at the summit of League One.

Elsewhere in the division on Saturday, Wells’s Luton side prevailed 2-1 over his former club Bradford City at Kenilworth Road.

The Bermuda striker entered the fray in the 77th minute with the Hatters clinging to a two-goal cushion before Bantams forward Stephen Humphrys pulled one back in second-half stoppage time to set up a nervy finish.

Luton took the lead through 18-year-old midfielder Jake Richards’ superb left-footed strike in the 39th minute that earned them a 1-0 advantage at the half.

Winger Shayden Morris, who was denied by the woodwork in the first half, made it 2-0 ten minutes after the restart and against the run of play with his fifth goal of the campaign.

Humphrys shaved the Hatters’ lead in the sixth minute of added time but the home side held on to extend their unbeaten home record to ten games.

Despite the defeat, Bradford occupy the sixth and final play-off spot by four points over Luton in the standings.
