Holders North Village and St George’s Colts will square off in the FA Cup semi-finals after being pitted against each other in the draw.

The tie is a repeat of the 2023-24 final, which St George’s won 4-0 to lift the coveted showpiece for the first time, with the game to be played at a venue and date yet to be announced.

Village beat Devonshire Cougars 2-0 in last year’s final to draw level with PHC for the most wins (11) in the competition’s history and are attempting to become the first team since Robin Hood in 2018 and 2019 to achieve successive FA Cup titles.

Village coach Cal “Patches” Dill s predicting a tough match against the East End team.

“St George’s is going to be a tough match so we can’t take them lightly,” he told The Royal Gazette.

“We need to go hard in training and take our game plan to the field.”

St George’s coach Drewonde Bascome is also looking forward to the challenge as he attempts to win the cup for the first time as a coach after starring in the cup success as a player two years ago.

“Village is going to be a good game and it didn’t matter who we got because they are all good teams,” he said.

The remaining FA Cup semi-final will be contested between PHC and Devonshire Colts, with PHC coach Cecoy Robinson looking forward to an exciting clash.

“Colts have been playing really well all season and they deserve to be in the match, which should make for an exciting game for fans to come and see,” he said.

“FA Cup is exactly what it is and there are no favourable draws. There is only the desire and fight on the pitch. Anything is possible to the team that wants it more. Win or go home.”

Colts coach Ray Jones also expects a tough encounter as they attempt to continue their fantastic season.

“A classic semi-final and looking forward to it,” he said.

“At this stage of the competition you will have to play the best to advance in the competition. I have great respect for PHC and their history of winning trophies so we know it will be a difficult task. We will prepare and put our best foot forward.”
