Rescheduled All-Star matches announced
The annual All Star Football matches that were postponed at the end of January due to bad weather are taking placeon Friday afternoon at North Field, National Sports Centre.
Organised by the Department of Sports and Recreation in conjunction with the Bermuda Schools Sports Federation, the matches provide a platform for the island’s budding footballers to showcase their talent, representing the East and West.
Setting the ball rolling will be the Primary School girls game starting at 2pm. That will be followed by the Middle School girls at 3.30pm, where Bermuda Under-17 women’s team goalkeeper Kyra Simmons is expected to guard the posts for the East team.
Primary School boys are scheduled to take to the field at 5pm, prior to the seniors bringing down the curtain on the fixtures at 7pm.
Featuring for the East are Sami Carolo, Zachary McGuire, Kydan Browne, Isai Gibbons, who already play league football at senior level.
Gibbons, who plays for St George’s Colts, was part of the Bermuda team that finished undefeated at the Concacaf Under-20 Qualifiers in Costa Rica.
Shoring up the West team is Jéon Wolfe, a member of the Bermuda side at the Concacaf under-17 Men’s World Cup Qualifiers.
