Nahki Wells endorses Trevo Academy for local footballers
Bermuda striker Nahki Wells has given his backing to a new football academy launched by some of the island’s best players.
Remy Coddington, Ajani Burchall and Sincere Hall have combined to set up what is being described as a “new standard in youth football development” with Trevo Academy.
The new programme has been endorsed by Bermuda’s best current player, who took to Instagram to urge Bermudian families to support the venture.
“I just want to take the time out to encourage the youngsters and the kids of Bermuda to join the Trevo Academy, which is starting this summer,” Wells said
“It’s three of Bermuda’s brightest talents who are looking to give back to the youngsters and future generations. They are taking their experience and their professional experience to give back to the community, which is something I’m a huge ambassador for.
“Families, get the kids signed up. It will be a great experience and who better for the next generation to learn from than Bermuda’s brightest talents. Good luck guys.”
Coddington spent five years in England with Bournemouth and West Ham between 2019 and 2024, while Burchall spent five years with Bournemouth and Aston Villa. Hall had spells in England with West Ham and Hull City.
Their new programme aims to introduce consistent, high-standard training for boys and girls aged 8 to 13, with the plan to operate on a two-week cohort model and groups capped at 20 players to ensure quality coaching and individual attention.
Alongside daily football training and tactical development, participants will engage in leadership sessions focused on discipline, confidence, and accountability, supported by education in strength, recovery, and nutrition.
Spaces are limited to maintain a high-quality environment and provide a structured, safe, and disciplined setting for young players throughout the summer. The programme is open to players of all experience levels.
“Our objective is to bring the standards we experienced overseas into a structured local setting,” programme leader Coddington said.
“What sets this programme apart is the level of discipline and accountability we apply every day — not just in how players train but in how they develop as individuals. This is about preparing young people for the demands of higher-level environments, both on and off the pitch.”
Trevo Academy has partnered with North Village Community Club, with the programme utilising the club’s facilities as part of a shared commitment to strengthening youth development and community impact.
“North Village is proud to support this initiative, especially as it is led by players who began their journey with the club,” said DeVrae Tankard.
“Seeing them give back in this way speaks to the strength of the community and the importance of creating positive pathways for the next generation.”
The academy is further supported by an experienced team including Coach Stephan Jones, strength & conditioning lead Melissa Smith and team physician Amne Osseryan, reinforcing a holistic approach to player development.
Registration is now open, with full details available at TrevoAcademy.com. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organisations looking to support youth development.
