Nahki Wells scores as Luton thrash Wycombe 4-1
Nahki Wells returned to Luton Town with a bang as he scored in his side’s 4-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
Wells, who played twice for Bermuda during the recent four-game international window, scored the third of Luton’s goals three minutes after half time.
The forward showed customary good movement to find space in the penalty area, tapping in from five yards after good work down the right from Jordan Clark.
Wells’ sixth goal of the season helped Luton to snap a two-game losing streak and they sit thirteenth in the league standings on 11 points, three points off the play-off places and eight points behind league leaders Plymouth Argyle.
While it was a good afternoon for Wells, fellow Bermudian Nathan Trott was on the losing side for Cardiff City.
Goalkeeper Trott conceded twice, in the 28th and 39th minutes, as Cardiff lost 2-1 to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Defeat for the Bluebirds leaves them 21st in the 24-team Sky Bet Championship on seven points from nine games and they do not have to wait too long to be back in action as they take on Watford at home on Tuesday.
