Walkers has recognised four aspiring Bermudian legal professionals through its annual Legal Bursary and Scholarship Awards, including the Jonathan Betts Legal Scholarship.

The awards provide financial support and practical experience opportunities through the firm's internship programme.

The 2026 Jonathan Betts Legal Scholarship, in the amount of $30,000, has been awarded to Erin Jones. Ms Jones graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First Class degree in History and will be attending the University of Law for her Postgraduate Diploma in Law.

Through her studies and participation in mock trial competitions, she has developed a strong interest in advocacy and dispute resolution. Ms Jones looks forward to further developing her practical legal skills during her time at Walkers.

Kennedy Wilks, a recipient of a Legal Education Bursary, is completing his LLB in Global Law at Queen Mary University of London and has recently completed a year abroad at the University of Hong Kong.

As a returning intern, Mr Wilks looks forward to reconnecting with colleagues, collaborating with fellow interns and continuing his professional development at the firm.

Za'Khari Turner, a recipient of a Legal Education Bursary, recently graduated from De Montfort University and will be attending the University of Law to complete the Bar Practice Course. She looks forward to gaining additional practical experience and continuing to develop her legal knowledge during her internship at the firm.

Owen Neal, also a recipient of a Legal Education Bursary, is a recent law graduate from The City Law School, University of London, and just completed a year exchange at Bocconi University in Milan. He will be pursuing his postgraduate studies in the Solicitors Practice Programme also at the City Law School.

As a returning intern, Mr Neal looks forward to further developing his interest in commercial law and gaining additional practical experience during his internship.

Mr Wilks, Ms Turner and Mr Neal have each been awarded $13,000 towards their legal studies.
