In Motion brings the Nutcracker to life
A Christmas tradition will return to the stage this week as the In Motion School of Dance presents its annual Nutcracker Holiday Spectacular.
The show, to be performed at the Ruth Seaton James Theatre tomorrow and Saturday, will feature both the company’s professional dancers and junior ensemble.
Lizz Pimental, director of In Motion School of Dance, said the show will also feature several of the school’s alumni, who have gone on to professional dance careers.
Ms Pimental said: “Our dancers have worked extremely hard along with the staff and we are very excited to see it all come alive onstage.
“This year’s production is a milestone for us. We’re thrilled to celebrate 15 years of bringing holiday magic to our community.
“With returning alumni, enhanced theatrical design, and all-new choreography, this family-friendly event will be unforgettable for audiences of all ages.
“This is a wonderful way for families to get in the holiday spirit and celebrate these wonderful local artists."
She said that the show will open with a celebration of Christmas through dance with festive holiday music, vibrant costumes and heartfelt performances.
The second half of the evening will bring to life the Nutcracker Ballet with all-new choreography intended to breathe fresh life into the timeless classic.
