Young talent shines at Menuhin scholarship contest
The Menuhin Foundation hosted its 2026 Scholarship Competition bringing together some of the island’s top young string talent. The foundation said that each performer was well prepared and delivered “thoughtful, confident performances expressing their musical strengths”.
Bella Correia secured first place in this year’s competition, earning a spotlight as the featured soloist in the Menuhin Foundation’s Annual Concert.
The concert is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 14 at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts, Prospect, Devonshire, and celebrates the foundation’s 50th anniversary.
A Menuhin spokeswoman said: “The event will bring together over 120 students from across the island, representing every level of Menuhin’s programmes, from primary students who have taken the free weekly group lessons to those that have advanced through the programme into individual lessons such as Bella Correia, and those in the Menuhin orchestras.
“The Annual Concert offers a rare chance to see the full scope of the foundation’s work in one setting.
“The concert promises to be an engaging and memorable celebration for the community.”
