Oronde Wilson Jr, 28, was the first road fatality of the year.

A police spokesman said that the man suffered serious injuries after his motorbike crashed on Middle Road in Southampton.

Mr Wilson was rushed by ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital but was later pronounced dead by doctors.
