Police curfew checks warning

Curfew checkpoints returned to the roads last night after the Government reintroduced an overnight lockdown to combat the coronavirus.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Martin Weekes warned: “It is a criminal offence to be out in public without lawful excuse during the curfew time of midnight to 5am.”

He told the public: “I again urge that when leaving a location or event, you allow yourself ample time to get to your final destination before the midnight start of the curfew.”

Mr Weekes added that if people were not sure who was exempted or wanted to apply for an exemption letter, they should visit https://forms.gov.bm/covid-19/curfew.
