A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after suffering head and facial injuries following a collision with a car today.

A police spokesman said: “Around noon police received reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle near the junction of Middle Road and Morgan Road, Warwick.

“The male motorcyclist sustained head and facial injuries and was left semi-conscious when the bike he was riding in an easterly direction collided with the car, which was headed west.

“The female driver of the car was uninjured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.”

Emergency Medical Services took the motorcyclist to King Edward VII Hospital via ambulance for further treatment to his injuries, which were described as serious, added the spokesman.

The road, which was closed for a period as Forensics Officers and Traffic Collision Investigators processed the scene, has now been reopened.

Anyone with information on this incident, is asked to call the main police number: 295-0011.
