School plans to expand with new classrooms

A private school has asked for permission to expand its campus.

The application from Warwick Academy proposed the construction of two new classrooms on the west side of the Middle Road school.

Extra parking spaces would also be created near the new classrooms.

The application also proposed the creation of three new offices on the grounds, as well as several small multi-purpose rooms.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “The additions are to accommodate our growth in student numbers and additional programmes we are offering.

“As for timing it all depends on the present Covid-19 environment. We were hoping for possibly in September but we don't know at the moment.”

The application was submitted to the Department of Planning earlier this month.
