A woman seriously injured in a crash has been flown overseas for medical treatment.

The 20-year-old motorcyclist suffered major head injuries after her macine was in collision with a truck at the junction of Middle Road and Verdmont Road, in Smith’s, at around 6.35pm on Tuesday.

The victim, believed to be a Hamilton resident, was admitted to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s intensive care unit.

But a police spokesman said it was understood the victim had been flown off the island in an air ambulance.

A police spokesman said an investigation into the incident continued and appealed for witnesses.

He added: “No one else was hurt in the crash and any witnesses that have not already come forward should call Constable David Ward on 295 0011, or e-mail dward@bps.bm as soon as possible.”
