Sports centres to be shut tomorrow for staff training

Shut: the WER Joell tennis stadium will be closed tomorrow (File photograph)

Government-run community centres, campsites and other facilities will be closed tomorrow so staff can attend a training course.

But the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation’s office will be manned to take telephone calls, mail and to respond to general inquiries.

The department’s sports centres also include the WER Joell tennis stadium and the WMC Preece softball park, which will be closed until 5pm.

The tennis stadium will be open in the late afternoon for tennis activities, and the afterschool programme will operate as normal.

Normal office services will resume next Monday.
