Wet and windy weather forces cancellation of Harbour Nights

A forecast of rain and increasing wind has resulted in the cancellation of Harbour Nights this evening.

The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce announced its decision this afternoon.

A chamber spokeswoman said that the Bermuda Weather Service issued a small craft warning valid through Wednesday night.

She added that today’s forecast said rain or showers will develop in the evening.

The BWS said that southwesterly winds would increase to strong during the late afternoon “with gusts to gale force, especially in showers”.

Its forecast added that winds are expected to veer “north-northwesterly moderate to strong overnight” then ease to moderate towards dawn.

The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce apologised for any inconvenience and looked forward “to welcoming everyone back” next Wednesday, June 22, from 7pm to 10pm.
