Hamilton docks will close early today so that workers can honour a long-time colleague.

A public announcement was made by Polaris Holding Company, which counts the city’s dock operator Stevedoring Services among its subsidiaries.

It said: “The management wishes to advise the public that the Hamilton docks will close at 10am on Friday, July 22 to allow staff to pay their respects to long-time employee Robert Lowe.

“The last container delivery will occur at 9.45am and services will resume on the next business day.

“Individuals or organisations can reach Stevedoring Services Limited at 292-3366.”

The notice added: “The management and staff of Stevedoring Services Limited thank the public for their kind understanding.”
