A renovated and revamped Pier 6 will be ready to host events this Fall, the City of Hamilton has announced.

Jessica Astwood, director of marketing and communications for the City, said: “Our engineering teams have designed Pier 6 Waterfront Complex to be a multifunctional venue, and we couldn’t be more excited to announce that it will be back online this Fall and ready to accept bookings.

“There will be focal floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Hamilton Harbour in the interior space, a full catering kitchen and staff quarters, tentable space on the terrace, modernised and expanded bathrooms and direct dock access to the water.

“This former cruise ship passenger terminal will play host to a myriad of new memories for potential renters and we are encouraging people to secure Pier 6 for their Christmas party or special event now.”

Pier 6 – originally known as No 6 Shed – has long been used as a cruise ship terminal, however about ten years ago the City of Hamilton moved the terminal to the lower floor and began to rent the top floor for events.

Last summer, the City began renovation work on the building with the goal of making it a premier events space.

Ms Astwood said: “This versatile waterfront venue is being purposely engineered so that it can easily transform to suit any occasion.

“The venue’s interior will spill out through generous double doors onto a grand patio where you can dine and dance under the stars, allowing you to take in the magic of a Bermuda sunset or admire the reflection of City lights as they flicker across Hamilton Harbour.”

A spokeswoman for the City said the cost to rent either the Pier 6 interior or the terrace all day costs a standard rate of $2,200 or $1,100 for charities.

The City also offers an hourly rate of $230 or $115 for charities for a minimum of two hours and a maximum of six hours.

Those interested in booking the space are urged to contact Lorna Hayward, the City’s venue and rentals coordinator, at venuerentals@cityhall.bm.
