Boy hurt while crossing the road recovering overseas

An 11-year-old boy seriously hurt after being hit by a car one week ago in Sandys is said by police to be recovering in a US hospital.

The student was struck as crossed the road after getting off a minibus, at 3.45pm on Thursday, December 8, on Somerset Road, just outside of Somerset Bridge Apartments.

He was treated at the scene by EMTs before being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, and then airlifted for further treatment.

Police thanked members of the public who came forward to help with ongoing inquiries.
