Trash normally collected on Friday, the Bermuda Day holiday, will now be collected on Saturday, the Ministry of Public Works said today.

A ministry spokesman said: “Recycling collection occurs every other week and will not be impacted by the holiday. The next household recycling collections will occur on May 30 in the west and the May 31 in the east.”

He said the Tynes Bay public drop-off will remain open on May 24 from 9am until noon. “This free waste disposal service is available to the drivers of private cars and L and LP vehicles.”

“Residents are requested to refrain from leaving trash at the facility's gates outside operating hours,” said the spokesman.
