Residents will have an opportunity to share their ideas on what areas of the law they wish to be reformed during a meeting with the Attorney-General next week.

Kim Wilkerson, the Minister of Justice, is to meet residents from 6.30pm on December 3 at the Warwick Workmen's Club during a Community Connect forum, the Progressive Labour Party said.

Ms Wilkerson will speak about her role in exploring opportunities to build a more restorative and rehabilitative approach to justice on the island.

The PLP said: “This initiative reflects the Government's vision for fostering a less punitive and more community-centred approach to justice that prioritises rehabilitation and restoration.

“We want to hear from the people of Bermuda.

“Community Connect is an opportunity for citizens to voice their concerns, share ideas and contribute to shaping the future of our legal system.”

The party added: “Together, we can work towards a justice system that better serves the needs of our community.”

The party urged residents to attend the meeting and participate.
