Distributor firm continues support of family charity

A supply and distribution company has pledged to continue its commitment of multiyear, unrestricted donations to Family Centre as part of its community investment.

In 2021, Butterfield & Vallis became the first Bermudian company to sign on to back Family Centre through the method of support, which means funding can be used for any purpose by a non-profit organisation as long as it is in line with the mission of the group.

The charity provides counselling, advocacy and community outreach to children, teenagers and their families.

Sandy De Silva, its executive director, said the company had supported Family Centre since 2016.

She added: “Unrestricted funding is especially powerful for non-profits as it provides flexibility, enabling us to prioritise and swiftly address the evolving needs of those we serve.”

Dr De Silva thanked Spencer Butterfield, the company’s chief executive, for “believing in our mission and for consistently investing in initiatives that strengthen our community”.

Mr Butterfield said the company recognised that “vibrant communities depend on healthy families and empowered children”.

He added: “Family Centre's impactful work aligns strongly with our company’s values and our commitment to community stewardship.

“We understand the critical value of unrestricted support, empowering trusted partners like Family Centre to deliver essential services and programmes without constraints.

“We are delighted to continue partnering with Family Centre as they champion brighter, healthier futures for Bermuda’s children and families.”

Information on Family Centre and how to give support can be found on the charity’s website.
