City of Hamilton unveils new website

Residents and businesses have been encouraged to take advantage of the “engaging modern layout” of the City of Hamilton’s redesigned website.

The City said the refreshed site preserves the trusted content and navigation that residents, visitors and businesses rely on.

The restructure has been designed with user convenience in mind, and the City said that the site introduces a streamlined visual experience and a new “Featured Links” section on the homepage.

The section provides quick access to the most commonly used services such as events, parking, permits and rentals, and ensures that users can easily find what they need without unnecessary searching.

The redesign emphasises service accessibility, making it easier for users to navigate and use the available features, the City said.

Features of the website

Highlighted services include:

Engineering applications

Users can easily submit forms such as major construction permit applications, sewage applications, crane permit applications and trenching and roadwork applications

Parking permits

Users can access applications for commercial, residential and disabled parking permits, as well as service vehicle and tradesman parking permits. Monthly parking renewals are also a click away

Venue rentals and policies

Users can explore and complete applications for event spaces, vendor permits and banner displays, all in one place

Jessica Astwood, the City’s director of marketing and communications, said: “This website redesign represents a strategic initiative to enhance our digital presence while preserving the essential services our community relies on.

“By improving the accessibility and usability of these online services, we are committed to meeting the evolving needs of our community and aligning with digital trends.”

The website is now fully optimised for both desktop and mobile devices, and the City said it offers a “visually rich” and user-friendly experience across all media platforms.

It also reflects the City’s dedication to accessibility, modernisation and delivering a seamless online experience.
