New arts award insignia unveiled
A team of graphic designers has released a set of unique emblems to go with the array of awards on offer from the Bermuda Arts Council.
The insignia include a new look for the Organisation Grant, the Mary Prince Award, the BAC Fellowship and the Earl Cameron Award.
Owen Darrell, the culture minister, said: “As the Bermuda Arts Council is the primary external funding body of the Department of Culture, it is in perfect alignment to engage local creatives to design the emblems for these government grant opportunities.”
He called the designs “cultural symbols that highlight the vibrancy of Bermuda’s creative community”.
Designers such as Avarie Graham, Edwin M.E. Smith, Nanohour, SJD World, Corrina Rego, Jordan Carey, Alice Coutet, Shanna Hollis, Shanna Henry and Hannah Collins took part.
The emblems will be used across various platforms and promotional materials to visually tie together the council’s mission of fostering and celebrating artistic excellence across the island.
They may be viewed online via the culture department website.
