FoodHub raised more than $2,500 for a teen-centred charity during the Agricultural Exhibition last month.

Restaurant staff presented a cheque for $2,516 to Teen Haven last Thursday.

Charity chairwoman Roxanne Christopher said the funds would directly benefit residents at the facility on Happy Valley Road.

She explained: “Some of them need counselling or therapy and some have children with special needs. Those costs are not always entirely covered.

“We want to make sure the children get the help they deserve.”

Ms Christopher thanked FoodHub and owners the Thomas family for all their assistance through the years.

She said: “They have offered employment to some of our residents who may not be working, giving them an introduction to the workforce.

“FoodHub has been a longtime partner of ours, so we are very thankful for them.”

Ms Christopher added: “It’s difficult living in a facility, so we work hard to create fun-loving experiences for our residents, because they are going through the most taxing journey of their life.

“I thank the community for standing with us and never saying no as [our residents] look towards the future.”
