Andrew Murdoch, the Governor, and more than 150 others turned out for the Church Girls Brigade annual fundraiser on May 10.

Tony Brannon, Wendy Robinson and others performed during the afternoon tea at St Paul’s Church in Paget, which also featured a hat and fashion show.

Mistress of Ceremonies Shawnette Somner won best hat, while the Right Reverend Nicholas Dill, the Anglican Bishop of Bermuda, decided that artist Victoria Outerbridge decorated the best table.

A statement said: “Among the excitement a memorial seat and table had been reserved for loved ones in heaven, guests were invited to write messages to place on notice boards to mothers and carers who are no longer with us.”

Funds raised will go to support several charities along with scholarships for CGB members going to university.
