Bermuda Day Parade float winners revealed

The Department of Culture unveiled the winners of the Bermuda Day Parade float competition today.

The Best Natural Heritage Float award went to Vasco da Gama Club — which also earned the Reggie Ming Award for Most Beautiful Float and the Ruth Thomas Best Heritage Float prize.

The Anchor Boys won prizes for Best Upcycled and Original float, the Department of Culture won Best Art Float and Best Overall and it was determined that Harrington Sound Primary had the Best Primary School Box Cart and Float during the parade.

Natural Heritage Float, first place: Vasco da Gama Club

Natural Heritage Float, second place: Department of Sport and Recreation

Upcycled Float, first place: Anchor Boys

Upcycled Float, second place: CedarBridge Academy cars

Upcycled Float, third place: The Association of Filipinos in Bermuda

Art Float, first place: Department of Culture

Art Float, second place: CedarBridge Academy float and blimp

Art Float, third place: The Sammy Wilson Central Zone Community Centre

Primary School Box Cart: Harrington Sound Primary School

Premier’s Award for Best Float: Department of Culture

Minister’s Award for Most Original Float: Anchor Boys

Reggie Ming Award for Most Beautiful Float: Vasco da Gama Club

Ruth Thomas Award for Best Heritage Float: Vasco da Gama Club

Dr Kenneth E. Robinson Award for Best Primary School Float: Harrington Sound Primary School

Dr Marjorie Bean Award for Best High School Float: CedarBridge Academy Float, Blimp & Cars

Bermudian Excellence Award: United Dance Productions

George Leon Burt Award for Best Box Cart Entry: Harrington Sound Primary School

Best Historical Float: Bermuda Industrial Union

Best Individual Float: Wave of Change

Lowdru Robinson Award for Best Government Department Float: The Office of Youth Affairs collaborative entries (Central, Eastern, Western community centres)

Best Tribute Award: Department of Sport and Recreation

Most Faithful Award: One Body in Christ Movement — For God's Purpose

The Resilience Award: Padma X

Most Community Spirit Float: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc
