Butterfield customers no longer need to notify the bank before using their cards in several international destinations.
The bank informed customers in an e-mail that advance travel notifications were not required any more to use credit or debit cards in the United States, Canada, Britain, the Caribbean and Europe.
The bank added that people travelling to other destinations were still urged to contact its call centre on 295-1111 or through Butterfield Online.
“To help protect yourself from fraud, download the Butterfield Card Alerts App from the Apple App Store or Google Play today,” the e-mail added.
“Simply register as a New User by inputting your Butterfield card details and get notified instantly anytime your debit or credit card is used.”
