Residents urged to join conversation on cost of living
The Ministry of Home Affairs has called on residents, including small and medium-sized business owners, to register for a cost of living summit next Wednesday.
The event at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is being held in response to the growing economic pressures faced by Bermudians.
It will bring public officers, industry leaders and community stakeholders to explore the challenges and design actionable, data-driven solutions.
Attendees at the event will:
• Hear recent findings from Bermuda’s Cost of Living Public and Business Surveys, which gathered insights from more than 2,200 participants
• Engage in sector specific panels featuring leaders in food distribution, utilities, imports, healthcare and housing
• Help shape the future of Bermuda’s economy through open dialogue and collaborative policy development.
Alexa Lightbourne, the Minister of Home Affairs, is leading the programme.
She said: “Behind every statistic, there’s a Bermudian family, senior, young person or single parent trying to navigate the challenges associated with rising costs.
“This summit is about turning pressure into progress and ensuring that no one is left behind. This is a free event, but registration is required as space is limited.
“We encourage all interested individuals to sign up and participate and contribute to this critical conversation.”
The deadline for registration is Monday.
