Teenage rider seriously injured in Devonshire collision

A 16-year-old male was taken to hospital this evening after a serious two-vehicle collision on Parsons Road in Devonshire, police said.

The collision, which occurred near Watlington Waterworks, involved an auxiliary cycle and a motor car at about 6.30pm.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said police and emergency services were dispatched to the scene.

The injured teenager was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries described as life-threatening.

The driver of the motor car was not reported to be injured.

Traffic was being diverted via Orange Valley Road and Vesey Street while the scene was processed and motorists were urged to avoid the area and to expect delays.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is under way.
