The Cup Match holiday will affect garbage collection in Hamilton next week, the City announced today.

A spokeswoman said garbage will be collected as normal for residents on Wednesday, with the final collection for businesses to take place at 5pm.

No refuse will be collected in the City on Thursday or Friday.

Staff will pick up garbage from business only on Saturday, and normal collection will resume on August 4.

Garbage should be placed on the sidewalks or designated areas during the times indicated in the refuse collection schedule.

Hamilton residents should not place trash out on days that no collection is scheduled.

The spokeswoman added that owing to the holiday, Hamilton’s City Hall office and depot on Laffan Street will close at noon on July 30 and reopen on August 4.
