Tribute to woman whose work seemed heavenly
A poet has paid tribute to a late friend and Bermuda Housing Corporation staff member.
Carol Clarke remembered Pamela Trott, who helped at her annual seniors Christmas event for 15 years, as a “genial, sensitive Bermudian”.
She explained: “Ms Trott would come to our Christmas party in her elf dress and serve and do her work just like it was from heaven.”
Ms Clarke said she thought of the numbers two, three and seven when reflecting on Ms Trott, who died on Friday aged 67.
She said: “Two is for balance, co-operation and diplomacy, it also signifies the importance of honest relationships and the power of collaboration.
“Three is for the trinity, seven signifies spirituality, introspection and intuition — it is a number that befalls individuals who delve into the depths of their soul and seek spiritual enlightenment.”
Ms Clarke added: “By reflecting on Ms Trott’s actions, young people can learn to be the best at what they do and do it from their heart … always have a pleasant smile and don’t worry about what other people say.”
Christopher Famous, a government backbencher and chairman of the BHC, said on Friday that Ms Trott, who worked with the corporation for four years, was “a key pillar of the team’s operations, contributing a presence that served the organisation’s clients with such a pleasant and calm personality”.
Ms Trott was a longstanding member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal church, and is survived by two daughters.
