Body of man found in Pembroke
The body of a male was found outside of a Pembroke home yesterday.
A police spokesman said that foul play “has not been ruled out”. An investigation has been launched.
Police said the man was discovered unresponsive at an address on Fentons Drive at about 1.50pm.
Acting Chief Inspector Karema Flood said: “Police officers attended the location and at that time they were able to confirm that the unresponsive person was a male.
“An on-call doctor subsequently attended and they confirmed the unresponsive person to be deceased.”
She said officers from the Serious Crime Department and the Criminal Investigative Unit, including the Forensic Support Unit, attended the scene.
Ms Flood said it was “too early” to determine the man’s cause of death, which is to be determined by an autopsy.
She added that police could not yet say if the man was a resident of the area.
She said such information would emerge during the course of an investigation.
The spokesman said police were aware of “a video circulating on social media in which certain allegations are made about this matter”.
He added: “While we understand emotions are running high, we urge the public not to be influenced by unverified claims and to allow police to conduct their investigation without interference.
“We are also aware of an image of the deceased being circulated in a similar manner.
“Please be considerate of the family of the deceased. Should you receive that image, do not forward it on and instead delete it from your devices.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Acting Detective Inspector Anneka Donawa on 717-2250 or via e-mail at adonawa@bps.bm.
The public can also call the main police number, 295-0011, use the community reporting portal, speak with a familiar officer or call the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline, 800-8477.
